Let’s talk about Martha Vineyard baby!

Honestly, my main motivation for taking this trip was the love for my friends. Thank you Marcia for staying on me. Let me first say “oh what a special place” Yes, it is a playground for celebrities and the very wealthy but average Joe’s like us can also enjoy this slice of heaven. I live in New York City so my travel time was about 4.5 hrs which is a tip in the bucket  compared to a lot of visitors I met.  I met these lovely ladies from Chicago who were wearing the most fabulous hats. Greg our very charming neighbor owns one of the most beautiful homes in Oaks Bluff and he travels from Virginia. I also met a couple from London and  yes everyone talks to you and are super nice, then to think of it why wouldn’t they ? This place is utopia where people just volunteered themselves to take your pics and let you use their dog for photo opts! ๐Ÿ˜Š
..

Now enough with the small talk, let’s talk about things to do...
Walking and or biking is a way of life so pack your cute comfy sandals ..
Traveling to near by towns you will need a car or scooter. The scooter rental by the pier in Oaks Bluff said it was $130 a day to rent but for cute girls $110.. sounds like a deal to me

Circle Ave has the most amazing shops. In the event you need an outfit there are plenty of shops. My fav store there is Serenity . From the moment you walk in, you  feel just that “serenity”. This store has the most amazing plaques, trinkets, jewelry, posters, candles and more.. Everything  engraved with the most beautiful quotes. I could have spent the day just looking and reading.
Make sure you make  space on your phone to take pics or plan to bring a real camera because there is a photo opt at every corner. I want to take this time to thank my friends for not breaking up with me on this trip but instead helping me with the most amazing pics #ineedcontent
Must see in Oak Bluff is the “Ginger Bread cottages” they are brightly colored and every house looks different. Really special row of lovely, ornate and very unique mini houses.
One must also jump off Jaws Bridge, sunbathe at south beach and wake early to see the most amazing sunrise and hopefully have a glass in hand to cheers to perfect sunsets.
Places to eat  in Oaks Bluff..well let me start by saying we went food shopping and they let us take the shopping cart home with our groceries.. Did I say I’m from NYC?No one gives, loan or allow you to take anything.. then to take it to the next level the supermarket was closed when we got back so we left the cart at the front door and they received  it the next day (oh I checked)... UNREAL.. Here is proof. Just a girl returning her shopping cart.
I had an amazing lunch at Bangkok Thai cuisine,  my pad Thai was perfection and the fried banana with coconut Ice cream was the perfect addition, my girlfriends were also very happy with their meals. We were stuffed! At Nancy’s the clam chowder soup and crab cake sandwich was great but the view was everything. Watching boats come it and out was just magical. Did I mention the numerous celebrity sightings? My friends and I also enjoyed a quick meal from Nancy’s to go spot, the lobster roll was all the rave.  At 7pm backdoor donut opens and get ready for the massive lines.. My daughter introduce me to this, however,  it is well worth the wait, calories and the sugar rush.... The fried dough......AMAZING, this became our nightly guilt free activity.
  EGARTOWN
Right fork diner  is a must,  not only is the breakfast spectacular but the ambiance is just so wonderful. Biplanes from Katama Airfield which is right next door allows you the treat of watching planes land and take off on private tours. FYI...  please make reservations for the diner because the wait can be long. We waited for an hour but the food was well worth it. My French toast with fruits was delish, everyone enjoyed their meals, honestly that was the quietest we were the entire trip...
Atlantic is an excellent seafood restaurant, and cheers to them for keeping the kitchen open for us to order. My bowl of mussels in garlic sauce was excellent. Shopping here is really fabulous, from the really cool and trendy retail shops to antique jewelry stores. I loved it all, very eclectic area. I was in heaven. The bonus was that the stores stayed open later compared to the stores in Oaks Bluff. I brought a really fabulous summer hat
there.. And I am impatiently waiting for my feather earrings to arrive.
HIGHLIGHTS
All my preconceived ideas of what Martha’s Vineyard is was totally blown to pieces.. I was very surprised by the cultural diversity, every ethnicity is well represented, you will feel right at home.. This is the ideal place for a  girls trip, couples getaway, and also the perfect destination for families. Mini and her crew were able to walk to the park, down to the beach, or just cruise around on their bikes or scooters without any worries. Not to mention their nightly three block walk to backdoor donut. Mini lived her best life on this trip. However,  as much fun as I was having with the girls, I was feeling like mini was having way too much fun without me and after her pep talk with me about letting her enjoy her vacation blah... blah..blah (yes she is only 8) she cancelled her beach day ( no guilt here, she went like everyday๐Ÿ™„) we had the most fabulous afternoon lunching and hanging , you must take the kids to #flyinghorses we had tons of fun on the carousel trying to get that bronze ring.  There is something for everyone to do here, and  if sitting on the porch and reading a book is your thing then enjoy, because every house comes with a beautiful front porch.

Night life was epic !!!
We started off at Island life lounge  on Circle Ave the music was amazing and at 11pm we noticed that the crowd was leaving for across the street and oh yes we followed!! Well, hello Jiggy Sunday’s Omg!! I felt like I was in ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ฒ Jamaica. The beat of the music that turns on all the sensors in your body. The hot sticky bodies, smell of natural mystic in the air, dancing, just the vibes!!! You could not tell me I was not home in Jamaica. It was so exhilarating, my girls and I ran out to exhale and scream for about 10 mins, we were living our best life in that moment... Naturally, we ran right back to the dance session...Oh what a night!
Thank you Martha’s Vineyard for a well rounded fabulous experience... I am sure I forgot some details ๐Ÿ˜œ but until next time ... The vineyard is calling and you must go!
